Since the Foundation joined the shutdown on March 18 and its activities were mainly driven forward in the home office mode, there have been some encouraging new developments. Although the regular March meeting of the members of the Board of Trustees had to be cancelled, the funding decisions could be taken without any problems – by way of written procedure. Now, the trustees were able to come to Hanover for their summer meeting on 26 June to meet and discuss in person. Secretary General Dr. Georg Schütte: "I am very happy about this positive development, which is also reflected in the fact that more and more colleagues are coming back to their offices here in the Foundation. Although we have all coped extremely well with the working conditions caused by the crisis, it is good to see the first steps towards normalization, especially with regard to direct personal communication."
