The Herrenhausen Conference in Hanover, September 29 and 30, 2015, discussed basic molecular processes and translational research approaches concerning cellular aging and its therapeutic countermeasures.

On March 25-27, 2015, researchers and international experts met in Hannover for a Herrenhausen Conference on "Big Data".

On December 10 to 12, 2014, a Herrenhausen Symposium was held in Hanover, Germany and discussed different approaches and perspectives to regulate Dual Use Research of Concern focusing on the pressing issue of lab made microbes. At a symposium organized by the journal Nature Medicine and the Volkswagen Foundation on November 6-8, 2014, 220 international experts discussed the latest studies and data on inflammatory diseases and illuminated perspectives for their treatment.

On October 8 to 10, 2014, more than 200 international experts from fields as diverse as Inflammation, Microbial Communication, Evolutionary Game Theory, and Diabetes gathered in Hanover to address open questions as well as to discuss the multiple new insights and opportunities for research trying to unriddle the mysteries of the gut microbiome.
