Protective and hygiene measures for events

Welcome to Herrenhausen Palace!

We all want to get through fall and the coming winter months in good health. It is with this in mind that we urge visitors to events at Herrenhausen Palace to comply with the corona containment measures currently in force: Our lectures and panel discussions will continue to take place under observance of strict protective and hygiene rules.

Please note the following points prior to your visit. Thank you for your cooperation!

Participation requirements and contact details

In accordance with the official policy of the Hanover region regarding access to public events, as of 11.11.2021 the so-called 2G rule will apply. This means that access to indoor events will only be possible with official proof of being fully vaccinated against corona or following recovery from the disease.

To be admitted to an event, you must present one of the following in conjunction with an official photo ID:

  • Proof of being fully vaccinated: The final vaccination (depending on the type of vaccination, the first or second vaccination) must have taken place at least 14 days beforehand).
  • Proof of recovery from a COVID-19 infection: Here, you must show an official, positive PCR test result issued at least 28 days earlier and not more than 6 months beforehand.

  • Under the 2G rule, children and adolescents up to and including the age of 18 do not require either of the above.
  • Persons with a medical contraindication to a corona vaccination as well as persons in clinical studies who are not allowed to be vaccinated must provide proof of this in the form of a medical certificate as well as a negative corona test from an officially recognized test center (not more than 24 hours earlier).

In order to ensure that the chain of infection can be traced in the event of a possible suspected case, we as the organizer are obliged to keep a list of all participants. For this reason, and in order not to exceed the permitted maximum capacity of the rooms, participation is only possible if you register beforehand at and provide your name, address, e-mail address and telephone number.

In connection with the collection of your personal data, we kindly refer you to our conditions of participation and data protection information for events

We also ask you to comply with the existing contact regulations.

Mouth-Nose Masks

While on the premises of Herrenhausen Palace, the wearing of a mask covering the mouth and nose is obligatory. Once seated, the mask may be removed during the event.

Adherence to the general rules of hygiene

During your visit, please adhere to the general recommendations for prevention of the coronavirus disease issued by the Robert Koch Institute. Out of consideration for other visitors and staff, please observe the sneezing and coughing etiquette and keep a minimum distance of 1.5 m from other people who do not belong to your own household. For hand hygiene, in addition to hand washing, hand sanitizers are available at the entrance. On-site notices and our evening staff are there to remind you of our hygiene rules.

Admission begins one hour before the start of the event. Please follow our guidance system in order to always keep sufficient distance from other guests. After the doors have opened, proceed directly to your seat. Please understand that we cannot open the cloakroom. We ask you to take your jackets and bags with you to your seat.

Sanitary facilities

Please follow any instructions given by the staff as well as the notices. The sanitary facilities will be open for you. Here, too, the number of people who can be in the rooms at the same time is limited in order to ensure sufficient distance. Staff on site will regulate access for you.

Wash hands

You will find soap at the washbasins so you can thoroughly clean your hands. Hand sanitizers are available in the entrance area of the Xplanatorium.

In conclusion

The premises are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected on a daily basis. We implement, control or accordingly update all prevention measures recommended by the authorities regarding how to deal with gatherings of people during the pandemic.
Please refrain from attending the event if you feel unwell or are unsure whether you may have had contact with infected persons, e.g., after a trip or in the event of illness in your immediate environment.

We thank you for your cooperation and are very much looking forward to your visit. Till then – all the best and stay healthy!
